The Christie Family had a passion for camping and photography, and Susan West Christie loved to paint.

Dr. Christie had a skylight window installed in the attic so she could indulge in her hobby, and her painting supplies and several of her paintings are on display in the attic, under that window.  With a southern exposure, the skylight lets in a tremendous amount of light.  Susan's brother was also an accomplished painter.

The camera they used, along with several glass plate negatives, are still in the home.
The glass plate negatives were found in a crawl space in the attic, where they were safe from exposure to light and rambunctious children.   Prints made from these negatives are on display in the Carriage house.
The photos below were (digitally) revived from the glass plates in 2013.  The damage and fading of 100 years of storage are evident.  The fact that any of the glass plates survived this long without being broken is a miracle!
